‘So ridiculous’: Alasdair Gold says Spurs have an amazing 21-year-old who’s ‘gone under the radar’

Alasdair Gold says Spurs have a top 21-year-old who’s ‘gone under the radar’

The journalist, who appeared on the Gold & Guest podcast, thinks the 21-year-old Spurs star is a “ridiculous” talent.

Additionally, according to Gold, Sarr has “gone under the radar” a little bit and might be receiving more recognition if he were at a “slightly more heralded” team.

Even at barely 21 years old, Sarr has been making waves at Tottenham, starting most games and seems like a step above the others in the Premier League.

The Senegal international has played in 25 competitive games for Spurs so far and has earned 14 caps for his country.

“I also find it so ridiculous that he’s only 21 years old,” Gold remarked.

I also wonder what would happen if he was playing for one of the slightly more illustrious teams than Spurs at the moment, such [Manchester] City, Arsenal, or even Man United.

“Do you think everyone would be raving about him if he were from Brighton, given the talent that city has produced?”

They probably would, in my opinion. At Spurs, he’s practically completely forgotten about.

Sarr being under the radar not necessarily a bad thing

The fact that Sarr isn’t receiving the respect he merits from outsiders is probably not something many Spurs supporters will worry about too much.

Possibly even advantageous, in this case. Spurs supporters will not want to see their best players being connected to other teams, as that kind of thing usually results in transfer rumors.

Over his entire Tottenham career, for example, Son Heung-min has hardly ever been the focus of transfer rumors.

Although it’s unfortunate in part, few Spurs supporters will be grumbling that they haven’t had to put up with the transfer rumors swirling about him all the time.

Spurs supporters genuinely admire Sarr for his skill, attitude, and promise, and it is evident that he is receiving the credit he deserves.

This season and beyond, Tottenham might accomplish great success with minimal outside interference if he and everyone else at the club stay beneath the radar.
