The Juventus full-back Andrea Cambiaso is reportedly keen to leave the Turin giants in the future, and Tottenham Hotspur is interested in recruiting him, according to a recent Italian report.

Full-backs are now among the most vital positions in the entire squad under Ange Postecoglou, who has asked his wide defenders to switch roles and adjust as needed.

With his two first-choice full-backs, Destiny Udogie and Pedro Porro, it’s a tactic that has mostly paid off.

Beyond them, Emerson Royal has also done a decent job of adjusting to the position. Ben Davies, who replaced Udogie at the beginning of the recent victory over Crystal Palace, didn’t appear at all at ease.

It’s unclear whether Ryan Sessegnon, who is recovering from an injury, can give Udogie more consistent competition on the left side, or if Postecoglou would look to trade for a player.

Spurs may look at Cambiaso again

Andrea Cambiaso of Juventus might be the ideal candidate for Spurs to sign if they decide to search elsewhere for that position. Sky Sport Italia (13/07/23 – via Mundo Napoli) reported that the North London club was linked to the young Italian throughout the summer.

Once again, rumors are spreading, and they originate from CalcioMercato. The 23-year-old has reportedly “set their sights” on the Spurs.

The Lilywhites have expressed interest in the player, but it’s unclear if the Old Lady would allow them to depart. Though Cambiaso is eager to play regular football, it is said that he is “not excluded” from the notion of moving on.

I hope I’m mistaken, but I don’t see Sessegnon succeeding under Postecoglou. I believe he will step in whenever needed through the conclusion of the season, but in the summer we will try to sign more formidable opponents for Udogie. But I’m not sure if Cambiaso is the best person for the position.
