Sky Sports pundit ‘angry’ with Patrick Bamford despite Leeds United striker apology

Following an incident involving the two players during the most recent victory over QPR, Asmir Begovic is “still angry” with Patrick Bamford of Leeds United forward.

On October 4, Leeds defeated their Championship opponents 1-0 at Elland Road, thanks to an early strike from Crysencio Summerville.

Begovic, the goalkeeper for QPR, was dismissed late in the game when it was determined that he had tackled Bamford outside of the penalty area.

On the other hand, replays revealed little to no contact, if any, and QPR successfully challenged the red card ruling.

When David Prutton brought up the incident during his time as a commentator for Stoke City vs Leeds on Sky Sports Main Event [October 25, 07:54 pm], Begovic responded, “He apologised.”

Begovic said, “We’ve known each other from the past and we put it right after the game,” in response to the question of whether the two are “best friends again.” I’m still upset, though.

“Ashamed”

Many believed that Bamford went down without anyone making contact with him, and the FA’s decision to reverse the red card given to Begovic supported this theory.

If that’s the case, you have to ask yourself why exactly he did not just stay upright and shoot the ball into the net.

To make matters worse for QPR, they had to leave striker Lyndon Dykes in goal for the final minutes since they had already used up all of their available substitutions.

Tim Sherwood, a former Tottenham manager, criticized Bamford for the decision at the time on Sky Sports News, stating that he should be “ashamed” of what he did.

To take things a step further, QPR supporters created a petition demanding that the former Chelsea player be barred from playing football professionally.

Though Begovic is still hesitant to accept Bamford’s apologies, both players have moved forward from the incident.
