£40m STAR’S AGENT ADMITS TOTTENHAM WANT RECORD-BREAKING STRIKER WITH 12 GOALS IN 8 GAMES

AGENT ADMITS TOTTENHAM WANT RECORD-BREAKING STRIKER WITH 12 GOALS IN 8 GAMES

With just eight Eredivisie games this season, Premier League player and target for Tottenham Hotspur Santiago Gimenez has already shattered a Feyenoord record by scoring 12 goals.

Following his two goals in Feyenoord’s 2-0 victory over PEC Zwolle over the weekend, the Mexico striker clarified any indications that the record of 43 goals in a single season in the Eredivisie may be in jeopardy.

Santiago Gimenez tells the Eindhoven Dagblad that it is “almost impossible” to match the record set by the famous Coen Dillen. Maybe he is correct. The striker who led Feyenoord to domestic triumph in 2023 and thinks that he can do the same in is so good that this is even a topic worth discussing.

Gimenez became the first player at Feyenoord to reach 12 goals after just 8 appearances as he finished well in two matches against PEC Zwolle.

According to one of the representatives for the Mexico international, Santiago Gimenez, a striker connected to Feyenoord in the Premier League, is being chased by a number of teams, including Tottenham Hotspur.

Morris Pagniello, a FIFA middleman speaking on behalf of one of Europe’s best number nines, gave a comprehensive rundown of the clubs that have expressed interest in signing Santiago Gimenez in recent months in an interview with Tuttomercatoweb.

Apart from Gimenez’s agent confirming Tottenham Hotspur’s interest in August, the striker is being pursued by genuine big-hitters from Spain and Italy.

And for good cause.

Tottenham Hotspur like Santiago Gimenez

Gimenez assisted Feyenoord in winning the Eredivisie the previous season. The former Cruz Azul star has elevated his game to a whole new level, scoring an incredible 15 goals in his first 11 games of the new season.

In just a single year, Gimenez’s price has increased fourfold, according to Pagniello. Feyenoord is now placing a cool £40 million value on the highly sought-after poacher.

“Gimenez has already been discussed with Atletico Madrid,” says Pagniello. We discussed him with Napoli, Lazio, Milan, and Inter. However, in my opinion, he may be ideal for both Juventus and Inter. For him, those would be the greatest choices.

Media Tempo was informed in August by Giménez’s agent that Giménez is among the 10 most coveted players in Europe. Consequently, even Tottenham Hotspur (are intrigued). Numerous clubs are after him. Lazio, Napoli, Milan, and Inter.

“There was a lot of interest from Atletico Madrid.”

If Gimenez continues on his incredible current trajectory, offers will start to pour in.Ayase Ueda has already been brought in as a possible replacement, but Feyenoord coach Arne Slot—who was once a target for Tottenham Hotspur—is refusing to rule out leaving in January.

Tottenham, despite their early Ange Postecoglou era success, still has the potential to be a top-tier center-forward and isn’t yet a serious contender for the Premier League crown.

Gimenez breaks Feyenoord record

“Yes, I am in good shape. But I also know that I can still improve a lot as a striker,” Gimenez tells Voetbal Primeur.

A scary thought indeed.

“I go to the training pitch at Feyenoord every day with the hope that I can improve a bit. I work with a great coach, with good people in the rest of the staff. And they help me to get better.”

“It is the first time in my career that I have scored 12 goals in eight games. I can only see that as a reward for all the energy I put in, and everything I experienced here.”

“I’ve been telling him for more than a year. Various clubs to believe in him. His value went from £10 million to £40 million in just under 12 months.”

Although Pagniello might think Inter and Juventus are Gimenez’s “best options,” they aren’t the teams currently in the lead.Instead, those trophies are held by the 14-time European champions and Premier League leaders under Ange Postecoglou.

Pagniello says, “At this point, Real Madrid and Tottenham are the teams closest to him.”

Tottenham, who have been outstanding under Postecoglou thus far and are unbeaten in nine league games, still seem like world-class center-forwards a step away from challenging Manchester City for the top spot. In the post-Harry Kane era, Gimenez may therefore be the “final piece of the jigsaw” kind of addition.
