Tottenham could offer huge salary increase to Arsenal target Kerem Akturkoglu
Kerem Akturkoglu, a 24-year-old Turkish sensation who has previously been linked to Arsenal, might be signed by Tottenham Hotspur for a significant salary, claims Turkish publication Fotospor.
Along with the Gunners, Liverpool and Manchester United were also mentioned in an article by the Turkish daily Aksam (h/t Football.London). Since joining Gala in 2020, he has established an enormous reputation in Turkish football.
And because of this, he is being sought after by several English clubs. According to reports, he makes about €300,000 per year at the Turkish, a sum that Spurs might increase to between €2–2.5 million.
That would be a raise that any athlete would want to take into account. Also rumored to be interested in him is West Ham United. Although Akturkoglu is capable of playing anywhere in the frontline, he mainly plays as a winger.
Go for it
Such flexibility is essential for depth. Recently, Harry Kane, Erik Lamela, Steven Bergwijn, and Lucas Moura have all left. Furthermore, we have not actually added many players to take their position.
Each of them, with the exception of Kane, fluctuated between being world-class. Although Dejan Kulusevski may be the only one to live up to expectations, our signings in that position in recent seasons have also been risky.
Akturkoglu may not be that, but under Ange Postecoglou, he can undoubtedly become one. It may be time to bolster the team with actual, world-class talent. He is fully equipped to do so using raw minerals.
A Son Heung-min or Deki injury, however, might potentially end our season. We’ll have to wait and see how, or if, the deal actually goes through. According to Transfermarkt, the contract of the former 24-year-old Enzincaspor star expires in June 2026.
