The feeling of sources’: Fabrizio Romano says £45m Tottenham target is ‘very likely’ to move clubs in January

Fabrizio Romano says £45m Tottenham target is ‘very likely’ to move clubs in January

The future of the England international was a topic Romano discussed on his YouTube channel.

Kalvin Phillips’ current difficulty in breaking into Pep Guardiola’s Manchester City team has been well-documented.

Rico Lewis was chosen over Rodri in the base of the midfield even after Rodri was suspended as a result of his red card against Nottingham Forest.

Spurs one team is rumored to be interested in signing Phillips in January, leading to speculation that he will leave the Etihad.

Given his recent lack of playing time and his £45 million transfer to Manchester City, it’s difficult to imagine the team asking for the same amount of money to sell him.

Gareth Southgate, the manager of England, has continued to have faith in the 27-year-old, but it remains to be seen if he can do so until next summer if he continues to stay on the bench.

Phillips has acknowledged that, given how little he is playing at the moment, he is thinking about his future.

Romano now has the opinion that the player and the organization anticipate his decision about his future at Man City in the coming weeks.

The midfielder’s future was discussed by Romano. “As we know, the situation is not quiet around Kalvin Phillips.

“He’s super professional, he’s a super nice guy, always very confident, always very quiet so he’s never creating any problems but the problem there is a technical problem.

“Kalvin Phillips needs to play, he’s saying that in public and in private even more.

“He needs to play football, he can’t always be on the bench, he wants to go to the Euros, he wants to be an important player for the English national team and for his club.

“At Manchester City, he’s almost never playing. In the summer he had many possibilities he decided to reject because he wanted to continue at City and fight for his place but now it’s almost November and he’s still never playing.

“So, the feeling of sources on both player and club is that in January it’s very likely that Kalvin Phillips will leave Manchester City to try a different experience.”

Romano continues by stating that Phillips may go in January on a permanent basis or on a loan, and that a short-term transfer would work for Tottenham.

The African Cup of Nations in January will cause Ange Postecoglou to lose Pape Matar Sarr and Yves Bissouma.

Phillips might be able to offer some much-needed short-term coverage for Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg, whose future is also uncertain.

Despite not playing much in games, the England international is still a strong player.

Spurs should give the offer their full attention right now.
