Report: Tottenham scout 20-year-old with £86m release clause

The Valencia midfielder Javi Guerra is reportedly being watched by a number of Premier League teams, including Tottenham Hotspur.

With nine La Liga games played so far in 2023–24, Guerra, who made his starting eleven debut for Valencia last season, is having an outstanding season at the Mestalla (Transfermarkt). He has three goals and an assist to his record.

Spurs have reportedly expressed interest in the 20-year-old after seeing some of his performances, according to 90 min.

Tottenham are looking at Valencia’s Javi Guerra

According to the report, Tottenham dispatched scouts to observe the kid in action for Spain’s Under-21 team during their 1-0 triumph against Scotland back in September, with Guerra playing 45 minutes in the game.

In recent months, it is also said that agents from Arsenal, Newcastle United, and West Ham United have scouted Valencia’s star player. Manchester United and Barcelona are also rumored to be interested in the player.

The article reveals that Guerra’s current deal with Los Che has a release clause that is worth €100,000,000 (£86,000,000) and extends until 2027.

Because Postecoglou appreciates working with young players, Tottenham’s transfer philosophy has changed during the previous couple of transfer windows, and they are now pursuing the best rising talent worldwide. Knowing that Guerra is on the club’s radar is hardly shocking.

Spurs takeover news

Since the Red Devils haven’t received their wish for a new era free of the Glazer family ownership, Manchester United has been the focus of any potential takeover in the Premier League thus far this season. The most recent Spurs ownership rumors, however, have raised the possibility of a novel development. The Mirror reports that after failing in his attempt to purchase Manchester United, Sheikh Jassim may decide to show interest in Tottenham once more. Prior to joining United, Jassim met with Levy early this year to discuss a prospective investment. Now that he is back in London, he may bid again.

Alan Hutton, a former Lilywhites defender, said to Football Insider on the possible takeover of Spurs.

“When it comes to Tottenham and Daniel Levy, the owners have been there such a long time, would there come a point where they think about selling up? Probably. The owners have done excellently since they have been at the club, you look at the work Levy has done, it’s amazing.

“Talking about trophies and stuff it could be better. Is the next level for them a move like this? Possibly, to then really go and try to make this squad even better than it already is. It will be an interesting one. I think Daniel Levy and Joe Lewis would listen to all sorts of offers and then consider them, especially if it meets their huge asking price.”

How much is Sheikh Jassim worth?

Jassim is rumored to be one of the Premier League’s wealthiest owners, making him a potential buyer for Spurs.Approximately $275 billion (£226 billion) is what Jassim is said to be worth. The North London club may finally be able to join teams like Manchester City in a regular pursuit of trophies, picking up plenty along the way, thanks to a sum of money that may completely change the game for them.

Spurs are still firmly in Lewis and Levy’s management, though, and any talk of a buyout would be quite premature at this point. The Lilywhites and other elite English football teams might be on high alert if Jassim decides to pursue his desire to purchase a Premier League club. With that in mind, the next few months in the top division might be tremendously exciting, and they could finish with the sale of Spurs in the future.
