Spurs: Tottenham prepared to offer “magician” eight times his wages to join
According to reports, Tottenham Hotspur is willing to pay a “magician” player eight times his present salary to join Ange Postecoglou’s squad.

The north Londoners are off to one of their finest starts to a season ever under Postecoglou and are having their most successful season since the 1960–1961 campaign. When chairman Daniel Levy’s new manager arrived from Celtic in June, Spurs really won the domestic double that season, sparking genuine enthusiasm at their dramatic turnaround in fortunes. Everyone has been surprised by the Australian.Postecoglou recently praised his players for wanting to alter the “destiny” of their team while speaking to the media.
“I don’t think it is fair to compare to last season, and speak about what happened then. It is all credit to the players, the way they have bought into what we are trying to do.
“We are really tight as a group, which you see because not only are we winning games, but apart from the football, which has been good, the resilience we have shown has been great. The players want to change the destiny of this club and that is what they are trying to do on the pitch.”
Some experts have praised Tottenham’s explosive play, including a former Arsenal striker and Gunners icon who claimed that Postecoglou, who is “underrated,” has stunned everyone.
Ian Wright recently remarked, “It’s underrated,” in reference to Premier League productions.
“It’s an underrated effort he is doing, at the minute. Major Ange Postecoglou fans. I remember people saying at the start that ‘he needs to start well’. With the players he has got, you want them to do well and win some games and stuff. But I didn’t expect it to be in the grove it is now and so quickly.”
Even if the Postecoglou buzz is in full swing, there are still rumors that Tottenham may try to add players to their roster during the January transfer window. There have been rumors that new defensive options like Galatasaray defender Victor Nelsson, Juventus star Gleison Bremer, Bournemouth’s Lloyd Kelly, and Bayer Leverkusen star Edmond Tapsoba are being considered due to their lack of depth behind in-form center-back duo Cristian Romero and Micky van de Ven.
Ivan Toney of Brentford has been identified as a possible target to take Harry Kane’s place as the team’s leading scorer in 2024. Postecogolou is also said to be interested in signing a replacement for Dejan Kulusevski. Jota, an Al-Ittihad winger, and Kerem Akturkoglu, a star for Galatasaray, are connected, and a recent report from Turkey contains information on the latter.

With regard to the Akturkoglu deal, FotoSpor reports that Spurs may now be willing to pay eight times the midfielder’s current weekly wage of £5,000 so that he can join Postecoglou in north London. This comes after the “magician,” as described in the report, turned down a new contract offer from his present team. Akturkoglu might receive a Tottenham offer of about £40,000 per week, which would significantly improve his current conditions.
The 24-year-old has scored three goals and provided assists on four others in the Turkish Super Lig alone so far this season. He is currently teaming up with former Lilywhites defender Davinson Sanchez. Tottenham is not the only team that thinks highly of Akturkoglu, as West Ham may also think about giving the Turkish international a significant wage raise.
