Youngster Harry Gray in the academy is currently the focus of a lot of excitement at Leeds United.

More information regarding the England youth international was provided on the Square Ball Podcast by journalist Phil Hay.

Considering how well they are performing in the Championship, things are improving at Elland Road right now.

Aiming to overtake Ipswich Town and Leicester City, Daniel Farke’s team has moved up to sixth place in the standings.

That won’t be simple considering the strong beginnings to the season that both teams have had.

Leeds will draw encouragement from the fact that they are the only team to have defeated Ipswich this year, who are currently in second position.

Farke has developed a very strong team with an intriguing blend of seasoned veterans and developing young players.

Archie Gray, a 17-year-old who has been an outstanding player this season, displayed his versatility last weekend when he played right defender against Bristol City.

 

Harry Gray, his younger brother, is making headlines in Leeds, though.

Although he has previously represented England’s Under-15 team, Leeds and the Gray family may remain connected in the future.

 

Leeds United excited about Harry Gray

Hay said the following about the adolescent: “I mean, Harry [Gray] is another one that they’ve been talking about for a long time as appearing really talented, masses and gobs of potential.

“And I think the thing you’ve seen with Archie [Gray] is that he manages himself really well.

“He lives as a footballer needs to live these days. He seems like a proper professional even though he’s so young.

“And he also seems driven to develop and get better which I suspect is in the Gray genes too.

“Big things expected of both of them.”

The fact that Harry Gray has a long way to go before he even comes close to playing for Leeds’ first team must be stated.

He scored a penalty against Wolves on Saturday and has already made his Under-18s debut at the age of 14.

The younger Gray has the ideal mentor to look up to as he rises through the ranks at Elland Road since he plays a more experienced role than his older sibling.

It’s crucial not to overestimate a kid this young, and he has two attackers in Lewis Pirie and Lleyton Brown who will be hard to replace, even in the Under-18s team.
