Ange could now finally unleash 22-year-old Tottenham ‘superstar’ against Fulham
Spurs, managed by Ange Postecoglou, are at the top of the Premier League standings and intend to stay there.
Tottenham will play Fulham at home on Monday night as their first match following the break.
Things appear to be going well for Spurs based on early team news.
The Evening Standard reports that despite Cristian Romero and Son Heung-min suffering injuries while serving their countries, Tottenham doesn’t appear overly concerned about their health.
In addition, Pape Matar Sarr, who was seen on camera wearing an ice pack on his foot while representing Senegal, allegedly worked out for the Spurs on Wednesday.
Finally, two Tottenham players who had been out of the running have now made their comebacks before the break for international play and are now eager to get back in the game.
Despite being on the Spurs’ Luton roster, neither Bryan Gil nor Giovani Lo Celso played.
Seeing Gil in action under Postecoglou would no doubt excite Tottenham fans more than most.
We have all seen glimmers of the 22-year-old’s talent. He is an exciting player. He was referred to as a “little superstar” before by Graham Roberts, for example.
He had high hopes of making a good impression on Postecoglou throughout preseason, but a tragic injury forced him to miss the first few games of the year.
Now that he is completely fit, the Spaniard will be eager to make up for lost time and demonstrate his true abilities to both his management and the Tottenham fan base.
Even those who struggled last year, like Yves Bissouma, Postecoglou has his Spurs players performing at their peak. See if Gil will also experience the Midas touch.

Even if Berahino was promise at the time, Spurs were arguably better off when this deal fell through.
Spurs were prepared to make room in their lineup for a striker by the name of Harry Kane at the time, but Berahino ultimately turned out to be a bit of a flash in the pan.
Who knows what would have happened to Kane’s career at Tottenham if Berahino had joined at about the same time for a significant fee.
Obviously, Kane is superior to Berahino, but oddly, Berahino formerly had more experience playing at this level than the England captain does today.
Spurs probably made a small amount of luck in this situation.
