Premier League side fear they will lose star striker to Tottenham in January

Brentford fear that they will lose Ivan Toney in January to Tottenham or another one of the Englishman’s suitors but the West London outfit are prepared for that outcome.

Toney is anticipated to depart the club in January once he returns to play after serving a lengthy suspension for breaking the FA’s gambling laws, according to a trustworthy source.

After a remarkable campaign in which he managed 21 goals and five assists across 35 games in all competitions, including a best-ever return of 20 strikes in the Premier League, the England striker believes he is prepared to take the next step in his career.

As one club seeking to replace Harry Kane’s goals after he left for Bayern Munich in the summer, Tottenham is prepared to make a deal for the Brentford star.

Ivan Toney is wanted by Tottenham and others

According to the article, Brentford would attempt to sign Serhou Guirassy of Stuttgart, who has been in outstanding form this German season, if Toney were to leave. Harry Kane of Bayern Munich has scored five fewer goals in the competition than the Guinean sensation, who has 13 goals in his first seven Bundesliga outings.

While it might be challenging for Brentford to entice him away in the middle of the campaign, if the London club can get a large sum of money for Toney, they might use it as leverage to entice Stuttgart to the bargaining table.

’NO-ONE KNEW ABOUT HIM’: SKY PUNDIT WOWED BY ‘OUTSTANDING’ FIND BY TOTTENHAM

The 20-year-old transferred from Udinese to Tottenham last summer, but he was immediately loaned back to the Italian team.

As Morrison said in an interview with Soccer Saturday on Sky Sports (14/10/23 at 2:35 pm): “No-one knew about him.” This has led to the all-action left-back flying under the radar throughout the early stages of the current Premier League season.

Destiny Udogie has always been a high talent emerging in Italy, so whether or not people were aware of him depends on how much football you watch and follow.

But one thing is for certain—the recently-captured Italian star’s name is now in more brighter and greater lights now that he is playing in the Premier League.

His performances are being praised as a result, as Ange Postecoglou’s team currently leads the Premier League standings.

“Another player I would mention who has been outstanding is Udogie, the left-back,” said Morrison.

“No-one knew about Udogie. That was a problem position for Tottenham and he has come in, at a young age, and done well.”

Destiny Udogie and Ryan Sessegnon

In the hopes that he would shine and emerge as one of the top players in the Premier League, the former Fulham wonderkid signed with Spurs in 2019.

But that hasn’t been the case; instead, injuries have only halted his development as he works to recover from his most recent injury setback.

When he has returned in the past, he has essentially earned his spot in the starting XI, but not this time since Udogie hasn’t claimed it as his own.
