‘Massive news’ – Pundit reacts to impending return of key Spurs figure
Oliver Skipp and Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg, who have both been waiting for game time in recent weeks, have been replaced by Pape Matar Sarr and Yves Bissouma as the first-choice midfield combination under new Spurs head coach Ange Postecoglou.
Postecoglou stated last month that the end may be in sight as he nears his return, but he did warn that they must walk gently. The Uruguayan has already been seen participating in some first team training.
He said:”Rehab it is the toughest bit. Talk to any player, it is not just the work but the solitary element of it. He was buzzing yesterday but it is good. Fair to say he has a fair bit of work to do and great to have him involved. He was dejected of course when we had to pull him out of it after half an hour.”
There will be many that are hopeful for a speedy return, however with such a major injury, there may still be a long path ahead, but the end is in sight.”
Rodrigo Bentancur set for Spurs comeback
Tottenham will undoubtedly be turning to Bentancur since Bissouma and Sarr are both scheduled to leave in January to represent Mali and Senegal at AFCON.
The return of Bentancur is huge news, Agbonlahor was quoted as saying.
If anything, Postecoglou has another alternative. However, I remember thinking, “This guy has it all,” as I watched him throughout the previous season.
He is a versatile midfielder who can play anywhere. He has the capacity to play deep and advance further.
He’s swift as well, and some of the runs he was making from behind were excellent.
“Postecoglou has been portraying Sarr there, and I believe he will step in for Sarr,” said the actor.
Then, you have a midfield made up of Bissouma, Bentancur, and Madison. That is terrifying.
Bentancur was a crucial member of the Tottenham team before becoming hurt, therefore it is crucial that he is not forced to return before he is psychologically and physically prepared. If this happens, the results could be terrible.
It would be exciting to see Bentancur and Yves Bissouma working together in the Postecoglou setup when they are both healthy.
