Daniel Levy and Ange Postecoglou risk losing five Tottenham players on free transfers in 2024
Next summer, five members of Ange Postecoglou’s current Tottenham team will be eligible to leave N17 as free agents.
Even if Ange Postecoglou’s tenure at Tottenham has gotten off to such a bright start, there is still much that can be done in the next transfer windows. Spurs need to make sure that they regularly compete for a top-four berth once again and that they stop switching between the many European competitions available after suffering through a few of very disappointing seasons in north London.
Speaking last month, the Tottenham manager said he needed a few more transfer windows to transform Spurs into the team he envisions. The upcoming transfer windows might potentially see Tottenham restock their team even more after only selling five players on long-term contracts in the summer.
As the team makes plans for the future, it is important to keep an eye on player contracts since five players will be eligible for free transfers in the summer of 2019, and chairman Daniel Levy will want to postpone making any decisions regarding these players. Ivan Perisic
After suffering an ACL tear in his right knee during non-contact training last month, Perisic may have already played his last match for Tottenham.He is likely to miss the rest of the season as a result of this injury.
In the first few games of the season, he more than established his value to Postecoglou and Spurs, so his absence is a serious setback. In their 2-0 victory over Manchester United in August, the Croat contributed with two assists and also played a significant role in Lisandro Martinez’s own goal, albeit he may not have played as many minutes as he would have liked because he had to get acclimated to a role off the bench.
Hugo Lloris
Despite having stated at the start of the summer that he intended to move on and accept a new challenge, Lloris is still a member of the Tottenham team. initial to the summer transfer deadline, a deal never materialized, and in the end, despite initial concerns about his position in the team, Spurs registered him as a member of their 25-man Premier League party.

Due to Cristian Romero and Micky van de Ven’s form, opportunities in the first team for the player are going to be incredibly difficult to come by with no cup games on the horizon until Spurs enter the third round of the FA Cup in January. Dier would be able to choose which clubs to join next summer if he left at the conclusion of his contract, and he would probably receive a significant signing-on fee because he will be joining his new team for free.
Fraser Forster
Tottenham are well stocked for goalkeepers at present but three of those currently on the books will be at the end of their contract come next summer. Forster is one of those, having signed a two-year contract following his move to the capital in June 2022.
It would make sense for Spurs to extend his current terms, especially as he is a very experienced goalkeeper and a good deputy for Guglielmo Vicario.
Brandon Austin
The third and final goalkeeper at Tottenham whose contract expires in the summer is Austin. The academy grad’s chances of playing for the first team are, to put it mildly, remote because he is currently third-choice behind Vicario and Forster.
Austin, 24, will eventually want to go for the sake of his own career, even though it could be advantageous for Tottenham to retain him around so that they have enough coverage between the posts. Austin has only ever played on loan with Viborg and Orlando, so he has very little first-team experience to his name. The summer of 2024 may be the ideal moment to rectify that.
