West Ham eye triple January signing amid fresh Steidten update – report

Tim Steidten wants to keep up the good job, therefore when the transfer market opens in January, West Ham plans to bring in three players.

Following their victory in the Europa Conference League, the Hammers signed Edson Alvarez, James Ward-Prowse, Dinos Mavropanos, and Mohamed Kudus, bringing a total of four first-team players into the organization this summer.

But as Steidten works with manager David Moyes to further reshape the squad in his image, the club is now eager to bring in a left-back, a central midfielder, and a striker in January.

Steidten is reportedly aiming to improve on a summer recruitment drive that brought Mohammed Kudus, Edson Alvarez, and James Ward-Prowse to the Europa League contenders. “A new left-back, midfielder, and center forward is understood to be on West Ham’s January wish list,” they wrote.

The three positions we most urgently want are those listed above, according to almost all West Ham fans when asked what the team’s current missing parts are.

Emerson Palmieri, who is terrific, is currently our primary left-back option, and after that, we only have an aging Aaron Cresswell, who wanted to go in the summer, and filler alternatives in Ben Johnson and Thilo Kehrer, both of whom are not naturals.

Alvarez, Ward-Prowse, Tomas Soucek, and Lucas Paqueta are all capable midfielders, but the Brazilian has a well-known release clause that will be activated next summer, so having a little more depth in the position would be beneficial in the event of an injury or a drop in performance.

A higher caliber option with an eye toward the long term would be wonderful up front as Michail Antonio is aging and prone to injuries while Danny Ings has been a bad piece of business since joining from Aston Villa last January.

Being a Hammer at this time is exciting, therefore it’s encouraging to see the club and supporters supporting that.
