Ange Postecoglou confirms another injury blow and makes ‘100%’ admission for 22y/o ahead of Luton

Tottenham Hotspur have won five, drawn two and lost only once in their opening seven Premier League games this season, the club’s best top-flight start in 40 years.

Manager Ange Postecou has confirmed that defender Brennan Johnson is not fit to face Luton Town after sustaining a knee injury during pre-season.

The injury, which Postecou said was minor, ruled Johnson out of Saturday’s game against Liverpool.

However, Postecou conceded that Johnson may not be available for today’s game and described the situation with striker Manor Solomon as “unoptimal”.

The Socceroos boss said Solomon had sustained a serious knee injury during training, meaning he will be out of action for a number of months.

“It’s unfortunate because he was already contributing to us and developing into his role,” Postecou stated.

“Losing a player in that position is not ideal, especially with Ivan Perisic already injured. With the international break, we’re kind of hoping Brennan Johnson will get the time during that to be available right after. He’s close, but not quite 100%.

Son Hueng-min, the team’s captain, was withdrawn from the game against Liverpool with 20 minutes remaining due to concerns over his availability. The management, though, assured everyone that the South Korean was well and would be taking part.

Sonny is well, he continued. He worked out without incident the past two days.

With Manchester City not playing until Sunday when they play Arsenal, Tottenham will temporarily take over the top spot in the Premier League if they defeat newly promoted Luton. If outcomes go in their favor, they may enter the international break at the top of the standings.

The injury was actually reported earlier this week. Solomon needed surgery since he had damaged his meniscus. He is expected to be sidelined for two to three months as a result of that.

Tottenham’s James Maddison and Destiny Udogie send messages to Manor Solomon

Manor Solomon joined Tottenham in the summer, and he has displayed a lot of energy.

The international from Israel is a fantastic athlete. He is speedy, talented, and capable of consistently scoring goals and dishing out assists.

Solomon played a significant role in Ange Postecoglou’s team this season, but he will now be out for a few months as a result of surgery, which is unfortunate for him.

Solomon revealed on Instagram yesterday that he has already begun his rehabilitation so that he can return stronger, which is encouraging news.

On his Instagram Story, James Maddison retweeted that and wished the user a “speedy recovery, brother!”

Prior to his recuperation, Guglielmo Vicario, Brennan Johnson, and Destiny Udogie left him some love under Solomon’s post. And this is what they said:

Ivan Perisic, who played for Tottenham, suffered a devastating knee injury last month and will be sidelined for the majority of this year.

In addition to Rodrigo Bentancur, Ryan Sessegnon, and Brennan Johnson who are all dealing with ailments, Son Heung-min and James Maddison also appear to be playing with some minor aches and pains.

The last thing Tottenham fans needed was a new problem, but alas, Manor Solomon is expected to be out for at least a few months at this point.

That’s certainly not ideal, but Postecoglou shouldn’t have any problems with Spurs due to the fixture congestion.
