Destiny Udogie is so happy that Tottenham went and signed £16m player this summer
Since joining Tottenham Hotspur, Destiny Udogie has expressed his gratitude to his colleagues, especially Guglielmo Vicario.
In a lengthy interview with football.london, Udogie stated that he already feels as though he has known the Spurs players for ten years.
The full back also thought it was fortunate that Vicario, a fellow countryman, joined the team at the same time.
“The entire team was really nice [when I joined],” remarked Udogie.
“I got lucky.” Vic arrived at the same time, but everyone was helpful in making me feel at home.
Naturally, this may help to explain how the 20-year-old has been able to get off to such a strong start so early.
Since moving from Udinese, Udogie has adapted quickly to both Ange Postecoglou’s team and the Premier League.
The Italian now appears to be crucial to this initiative, along with individuals like Pedro Porro and Yves Bissouma.
Udogie is very grateful to have Vicario with him at Tottenham
Given their impressive start to the season at Tottenham, they must both be aiming for their first senior cap for Italy. Vicario was recently called up by the Italian national team but did not feature.
Udogie, meanwhile, has been performing well for the under-21s but has yet to be called up to a senior team – a situation that could change in the near future.
Just as previous Tottenham teams formed the basis of the England team, fans may be hoping that Udogia and Vicario will be regular fixtures for Italy in the future.
James Maddison is another player who could be hoping to take his international career to the next level thanks to his recent form at Spurs. Although he is now considered ‘world-class’ by many, fans and pundits alike, he has yet to play an important part for England.
