Sam Byram mocked by Sky Sports as Leeds United ace suffers stinker in 3-1 defeat v Southampton
After his awful performance in the 3-1 loss at Southampton on Saturday, Sam Bryam will have Leeds United fans believing that Junior Firpo is Roberto Carlos.
The 30-year-old Byram, who returned to Elland Road on a free transfer in August, was making his ninth appearance for Leeds. Despite impressing last time out with a goalscoring performance against Watford, the full-back from Thurrock was far slower on the south coast.
In just 35 seconds, Southampton jumped out to a three-goal lead.

The Saints striker made short work of Bryam for his second goal just after 30 minutes as the home team’s brisk start to the Championship match at St Mary’s left him plainly struggling. Adam Armstrong’s second-minute goal found the Leeds full-back out of place.
Byram didn’t appear to be paying any attention to the game during the opening goal.

The left-back is in a good position and has preserved what is a respectable-looking Leeds backline, as seen in the picture up above.
But it quickly starts to disintegrate.

Liam Cooper makes a terrible move forward to put Armstrong onside so that the Southampton striker can enter behind him and move diagonally in the direction of Byram.
But despite being caught flat-footed and having little chance, the former Norwich full-back steps forward in an attempt to intercept the through ball rather than following the run.

Armstrong is in a one-on-one situation with goalie Illan Meslier before Byram even realizes it.
With his second goal, Armstrong played with the helpless left-back by severely misfiring him, causing him to trip and fall.
Here is the tweet from Sky Sports Football making fun of him.
