Opinion: £30m man finished at West Ham as Moyes eyes January deal for ‘elite’ teenage sensation Ousmane Diomande
It looks like West Ham and Arsenal are really trying to get their fingers on the ball if they can. The report from TheRecord says they’re both interested in signing Ousmane before the January transfer window, and David Moyes is really looking to strengthen his central defense this winter.
It has been reported that one player has been significantly lagging behind this season, namely Nayef Aguerdo. The Moroccan was signed from Rennes for a fee of £30 million in summer 2022, and now it appears that we may have paid too much for him.
Moyes’s alleged January plan is certainly bad news for the 27-year-old centre-back…
Aguerd’s £30m spell at West Ham is coming to an end as Moyes looks to complete a deal for ‘elite’ teenage defender Ousmana Diomande. If West Ham sign Diomande from Sporting, it will be Aguerd who will be the one to go out on loan.
With Kurt Zouma as the club’s captain and more consistent than Diomande, there is no reason why Moyes will want to let him go.
Diomande is not a left-footed player but he is well-suited to playing the left-side centre-back role.
