‘World-class’: Jamie Redknapp says it’s almost been forgotten how good one Tottenham player actually is
Speaking on Sky Sports, Redknapp said that Spurs “got away with a point at the Emirates after an exciting game”.
He added that Son’s return to form has been “phenomenal”, with the striker scoring his fourth and fifth Premier League goals of the season.
He scored the opener with a well-taken shot into the bottom corner, after James Maddison worked again to set him up for a second goal in the second half.

Despite having a difficult start to the season, Son has stepped up to the challenge and is on track to match his total from the entirety of last season. After his performance against Arsenal, Jamie Redknapp noted that Son has reminded everyone of his true quality. “We’ve all forgotten how good he is, he’s a great wide-man but he’s a world class striker,” Redknapp said. “It’s a testament to how good Tottenham’s attack has been that there’s even a debate as to whether they are better off without Harry Kane.”
Postecoglou undoubtedly would have preferred to have Kane in the side this season, but Tottenham have coped admirably with his departure. Maddison has proven to be an excellent signing, while the likes of Morgan Schneiderlin, Manolo Gabbiadini and Christian Eriksen have already shown their quality. However, Son has made a significant step forward in recent weeks, particularly since relocating to a more central position.

A heavily linked Tottenham transfer – potentially in January – might not proceed as expected thanks to Ange Postecoglou, according to Fabrizio Romano.
Over the summer, Spurs blocked all potential replacements for Lo Celso. The Argentine, 27, had been on loan to Villarreal for the past 18 months, but was signed by Spurs ahead of the new season.
“Postecoglou has promised to give Lo Celso a big role in the first team,” said Deportivo, “but he hasn’t been able to get the regular minutes he might have expected.”
Lo Celso hasn’t had much to show for himself, either, as he has been squeezed out of the first-team picture by the emergence of two of the most promising young players in the French league, Jurgen Klassen and Per Mertesacker.
In addition to Klassen and Mertesacker, Spurs have also had to cope with the emergence of Pierre-Emile Jojbjerg as well as Oliver Skipp.
Lo Celso has only made one substitute appearance so far this season, starting against Fulham in the League Cup second round but being hooked at half-time. Speculation has been rife that he could leave Spurs in January, with talk of a return to Spain with either Barcelona or Real Betis. But Spurs manager Postecoglou wants Lo Celso to stay, so there’s no need to sell him in the winter window.
“I’d wait before saying anything about a January move for Lo Celso,” Romano said.
“If he’s not playing in the next few weeks, it could be a possibility, but nothing’s been decided yet.”
Lo Celso’s Spurs contract isn’t due to end until 2025, so Spurs aren’t under any pressure to sell.
