‘DELIGHTFUL’: SOL CAMPBELL IMPRESSED BY TOTTENHAM DUO TODAY IN NORTH LONDON DERBY
Tottenham Hotspur forward James Maddison was praised for his ‘great cut-back’ and ‘delightful’ finish in the opening goal of Sunday’s north London derby at the Emirates, as Ange Postecoglou’s side fell behind after 26 minutes due to an unfortunate own goal by Cristian Romero.
However, it was James Maddison and the South Korean star who then combined again to score Spurs’ second goal of the game, helping the hosts maintain their unbeaten start to the season.
Maddison, on the left, got the better of Arsenal’s striker Bukayo Sako and drove into the penalty area before firing the ball across the face of goal for his Tottenham teammate.
The former Arsenal and Tottenham forward said it was a ‘delightful finish’ as he spoke to Premier League Productions.
Let’s move on from Harry Kane, there seems to be a new partnership forming on Hotspur Way.
“Great cut-back from Maddison for Son,” said Campbell. “Fantastic and delightful finish from Son.”
Son and Maddison’s partnership
It is a sight to behold and it has Spurs fans jumping out of their seats because now they have something to celebrate.
Spurs have been used to this boring, boring football over the last few years, where they have stayed on the back foot and not gone for the kill, but now led by the likes of Maddison and Son they are going in the other direction.
At the end of the day, Arsenal and Tottenham split the points, and Spurs grew into the game as the match progressed and, arguably, finished the game as the better team.
