Daniel Farke now says there’s a ‘top class’ Leeds player putting in amazing performances in training

Following the impressive victory over Watford yesterday, Daniel Farke of Leeds United was quick to express his admiration for Charlie Cresswell, who had not featured in the match. Despite not playing a single minute, Farke noted that Cresswell’s contribution to the victory was still significant.

Speaking at his pre-match press conference via Leeds Live, Farke praised Cresswell’s approach in training and said Cresswell is ready to play in the event of a drop in performance levels. He added that it is good to have players like Cresswell on the pitch. “It’s good to have a player like Cresswell,” Farke said. “He trains every single day with top class performance and mentality. He keeps the pressure on because players like Pascal, Joe and today Liam know they can’t afford to be playing with two percent less concentration. Because there is a world-class player waiting for him to succeed.”

These comments would suggest Cresswell has a bright future at Leeds.

Farke said Cresswell is ready to play for Leeds

Leeds have a strong centre-back line-up for the Championship, and Cresswell will be ready to play for a lot of teams at this level, as he showed during his loan spell at Millwall last year.

It’s clear from Farke’s comments that he thinks Cresswell is unlucky to be out of a job at Leeds right now, but Cresswell seems to be dealing with the situation with the right attitude.

He will be confident that he will get his chance during what is likely to be a long season for Leeds, and it’s good to hear his manager say so. Farke’s side are in a great run of form, with yesterday’s win being their fourth clean sheet in a row, and the likes of Joao Piroe and Georginio Rutte are really getting going.
