The injury expert has confirmed that Spence, who is on loan from Tottenham Hotspur, is out for the season with a Grade 2 medium tear in his knee, which is very uncommon for a footballer. It is expected that Spence will return to action for Leeds in mid-November.
When asked about Spence’s injury, Dr Brar, who specialises in physical therapy and sports science, told MOT Leeds News:
“This has been announced as a lateral collateral ligament (LCL) injury.
“If isolated, meaning nothing else is damaged, is actually extremely rare.
“The timeline of eight weeks aligns with a grade 2 moderate tear.
“The timeline appears to be legitimate so Leeds can expect him back by mid November.”
Spence has not yet made his first start for Leeds since joining the club on loan during the summer, but his performance against Sheffield Wednesday was highly commendable.
His absence will be a major blow to Daniel Farke, who had already made the selection of Drameh as a loan player during the summer transfer period. It is anticipated that Luke Ayling will remain the first-choice right-back until Spence’s return to full-time fitness, while Jamie Shackleton will serve as his cover.

Sinisterra’s agreement to sign for Bournemouth does not include an option to purchase the player should Leeds not be promoted, which is a prudent business decision. Leeds would receive a substantial sum of money from his sale, which would be beneficial to the club’s profits and sustainability policy in the Championship. However, if Leeds do ascend to the top tier, they may be able to either sell him for a higher price or retain a player who is already considered to be of a Premier League standard. It remains to be seen whether Leeds supporters would be receptive to the return of Sinisterra, or any of the loan players.
