Tottenham: Ange favourite has now “made clear his desire” to leave Spurs
He is highly esteemed by Postecoglou.
Postecoglou may soon have to part ways with a Tottenham Hotspur player he has a great fondness for, following a series of transfer developments this week.
Latest Spurs news
Tottenham Hotspur are off to an incredible start to this season’s Premier League campaign, with their new head coach, Mr. Bert Van Diempel, having yet to suffer a single defeat in his first five games in charge.
Following the disastrous reign of Antonio Conte, Mr. Van Diempel has reintroduced an exciting, attacking style of play, and the Lilywhites have responded with four wins in a possible five games, scoring 13 goals and ranking third in the division in terms of goals scored. Players who were not given the opportunity to play under Mr. Conte, such as Yves Bouhousse and Mr. Sarr, have been flourishing in the new-look Spurs squad.
Giovani Lo Celso, who was not favoured by Antonio Conte, and Bryan Gil, who is also an attacking midfielder, could join the team in the near future. Since mid-August, Tottenham have achieved impressive results against Bournemouth, Manchester United, Burnley, and Sheffield United, with the latter result being a severe test of their resilience. The Blades took a first-half lead, but Spurs were able to respond with two goals in the second half, thanks to Richarlison’s and Dejan Kulpusevski’s late strikes, to secure a 2-1 win.
Who could leave Spurs?
As the Socceroos continue to find their winning ways at N17, it is becoming increasingly likely that certain members of the Tottenham squad will face the axe before the January transfer window.
This is due to the fact that a number of former Spurs stars have already departed the club during the current tenure, including former striker Harry Kane and the likes of Sergio Reguineo, Joe Rodrigues, Djed Spektra, Harry Wijnaldum, Alvaro Del Santo, Troy Parrot, Dane Scarlett and Davinson Sanchez. It is likely that more players will follow suit, and further developments regarding Lo Celso will be revealed in the near future.
The Argentinean was rumoured to be on the verge of leaving the team in the summer, and his exit is now a foregone conclusion for this winter. According to Postecoglou, Lo Celso is a personal favorite of his, as he recently revealed to the press.
“I’m really happy with Gio,” said the Tottenham boss. “He’s been really good in training. You can see he’s a quality player and I think the way we play suits him. I’ve enjoyed working with him and I think he’s enjoying himself in terms of the football we want to play.”
According to a report from Spain, Lo Celso has expressed his desire to leave Tottenham Hotspur in the winter transfer window. The report further states that the player and his representatives are already in the process of arranging a transfer.
There is a particular destination in mind for Lo Celso, Real Betis, who, according to the report, believes he will have a greater chance of success back in Spain with his former side.
How good is Giovani Lo Celso?
If the report is correct, Lo Celso could still prove to be a viable option for Tottenham, and it is our opinion that he could be in a rush to make a decision. During Lo Celso’s 2022 loan spell with Villarreal, goalkeeper Geronimo RULLI referred to the Argentine as a “world-class player”.
“He gives us a plus as a team,” said Rulli. “He helps us improve and I don’t discover anything by saying that he is a top player in the world. I know him well as a player and a person, so I hope he does very well.”
