Following his introduction, the Dutchman provided Leeds with the only real spark in attack, earning praise from Hendrie for his near-miss to open the scoring. Summerville took the ball from the left and executed a neat one-two with George Rutter before releasing the ball for the first time.

It initially appeared that Summerville’s effort would be directed towards the top corner, however, Leeds were fortunate to have Allsop turn it around the post. After the match, the referee commented on Summerville’s performance, noting that he had been performing well since replacing Gnott.

“Summerville has had a really good run since he stepped in for Gnott, and he has hit the volley as sweetly as you could wish for, and it has forced a strong, big hand from Allsop who has pushed it wide,” the referee said. “Leeds are making a good run, but Hull are very well organised. They are definitely making a run.”

After coming on as a substitute in his preferred left wing position, Summerville asserted himself as a threat from the moment he entered the match.

Following the dismissal of Joe Rodon, the striker was shifted to the right side to accommodate Jaidon Anthony, yet still provided Leeds with a genuine counter-attack threat. If Summerville can maintain this level of performance, he will be capable of providing the match-winning goal for the club on numerous occasions.
