Club ready deal to sign Leeds ‘Exception’ permanently after £82m+ windfall – report

Frankfurt are on the verge of signing defender Robin Koch on a long-term contract from Leeds United, following the sale of Kolo Muani to Paris Saint-Germain for £82.1m, according to a report in the German newspaper Bild. The report states that Frankfurt are “already planning” a fixed-term deal for the loan-from-Leeds defender, who is due to turn 27 in 2024.

The Bundesliga side’s pursuit of the German international comes on the back of PSG’s acquisition of Muani in the summer.

Leeds United

For the first time since 2009, all the stars are on loan from Eintracht – no one is on loan – apart from Robin Koch, who is on a fixed-term contract with the club until 2024.

Eintracht have the money to go and sign him at some stage during his loan spell.

Leeds have received a huge fee from Kolo Muani, so if they can, they should look to get the most out of the centre-back they can.

They paid £12.9m for him in 2020 from Freiburg and should aim to get at least a fee from the Bundesliga outfit for him.

He has already established himself as a key player, playing four times in the league and twice in the EPCL.

It is clear the player did not want to stay at Elland Road.

A sale as soon as possible, while they still have the cash, would be a welcome boost for the West Yorkshire club.

Joel Piroe says Leeds have a ‘great’ 21-year-old in their ranks who’s so eager to improve

Piroe says Rutter is a “great lad” and is eager to “learn more about the Championship” and “improve as a player”. Piroe joined Leeds from Swansea City in the summer for an initial £10.5m, and has started all three matches with fellow forward Rutter since joining the Whites.

Leeds United forward Joel Piroe has been speaking highly of Whites teammate Georginio Rutter.

The Elland Road summer signing told BBC West Yorkshire Sport that Rutter is a “great lad”.

Piroe also said his fellow forward is eager to learn more about the Championship and improve as a player.

Leeds made a host of signings over the summer, with Piroe arriving for £10.5million from Swansea City.

Since joining the Whites, he and Rutter have started all three matches alongside one another.

Piroe has scored three goals in that time, while Rutter has also scored twice and provided an assist. Speaking to BBC West Yorkshire Sport, Piroe said: “I wouldn’t say I’m teaching him, but yes, we talk a lot about football. He’s a great lad and he’s very open to having that conversation. He’s got the right attitude and he’s willing to learn. I think I’ve been in almost 100 Championship games, so I can give him some of the experience that the league needs. It’s great to hear you say that about Rutter.”

The two appear to be working well together, and it will be interesting to see how their relationship develops as the season progresses. Leeds host Hull City on Wednesday night, and both are likely to start, so let’s see how they both do if they both get the nod.
