Chris Kavanagh will officiate this weekend’s game at Anfield, according to a statement from the Premier League.
The 38-year-old official from Greater Manchester has a history with West Ham.
Only seven of our 20 games under Kavanagh’s management have resulted in victories for us (Transfermarkt). We have lost eight of the 20 games.
As a referee for our games, he has also been a part of numerous contentious rulings.
When we were denied a late penalty against Liverpool at the London Stadium in April, it was obvious that Thiago handled the ball inside his own box. Hammers manager David Moyes was furious with Kavanagh and the VAR officials (Sky Sports).
The 38-year-old was also the one who mysteriously dismissed Fabian Balbuena during our loss to Chelsea at the London Stadium a few years ago. It was an incredibly shocking choice.

It will be challenging enough to win on Sunday at Anfield. And now that Chris Kavanagh is in the middle of the game, officiating it, our mission will be considerably more difficult.
The match between Liverpool and West Ham ought to be exciting. Just hoping Kavanagh doesn’t ruin everything.
