Leeds United team news: Jaidon Anthony arrives at Millwall, Joel Piroe to start
According to journalist Joe Donnohue of the Yorkshire Evening Post, Jaidon Anthony is traveling with the Leeds United team to south-east London to face Millwal.
Donnohue said on Sunday, September 17, that he saw Anthony, 23, and the team arriving at The Den before kickoff at 12 o’clock.
Archie Gray, Jamie Shackleton, Ethan Ampadu, Georginio Rutter, and Joel Piroe are reportedly also present, with Piroe working the pre-game media. According to Donnohue, the Swansea summer acquisition will now start.
Ilia Gruev is also in the team, therefore he might also make his debut, Donnohue noted in another tweet.
Impact sub?
It will be nice to see Anthony receive the chance to impress Leeds supporters in a place where the Whites don’t have the best record.
On the day of the transfer deadline, Anthony left Bournemouth for Leeds on loan while Luis Sinisterra went the other way.
Although we don’t anticipate the London-born winger to be as technically skilled as Sinisterra, we are eager to see what he can achieve for the Yorkshire giants in the Championship.
This season, Anthony has played four times, all of which have been for Bournemouth.
He was selected for the starting lineups against West Ham and Liverpool, and he also had a significant impact on a 3-2 Carabao Cup victory over Swansea by providing an assist on one of his team’s goals.
Anthony has a respectable Championship record with eight goals and seven assists in 50 games.
That’s noteworthy given that the majority of those appearances were made as a young, developing attacker.
