Meslier, 23, has consistently excelled for Leeds. He struggled to repeat the form he shown in the first two Premier League seasons, as though his potential had kind of peaked last year.
The Frenchman is still at Leeds, and Darlow has been added as competition. For the first time, Meslier is genuinely competing with a goalkeeper rather than only filling in for the starters at Leeds.
Meslier was questioned about how Darlow’s acquisition has influenced him considering that the former Toon goalie will be eager to start and not just sit on the bench. He claims that his recent addition keeps him on his toes while training.
“To be honest, it’s good. I believe he improves me every day. I like that we have a good level of training because this guy has expertise and can offer some guidance. Consistent in their training,” remarked Meslier.
Meslier says Darlow making him less lazy behind Leeds scenes
It is Meslier’s unvarnished perspective. In light of the fact that Robles or Kris Klaesson never posed a challenge, he must accept that perhaps a sense of complacency crept into his performance. At Elland Road, at least not at first.
His performance declined to the point where Robles—who was just brought in to cover for him against Leeds—came in toward the close of the previous campaign. Even though it is tough on Darlow, it’s excellent if Meslier gives Darlow his best effort.
