Dean Jones has given Glen Kamara and Djed Spence his support in their efforts to “quickly establish themselves” and have a “impact” on the Leeds United squad.
The two late-window additions at Elland Road, according to the former Eurosport journalist (9 September), were “really big signings” for Daniel Farke, and both players have much to prove after being dropped by Rangers and Tottenham, respectively.
Spence has joined on a season-long loan from Spurs after playing for the London club for just 41 minutes before being sent to Rennes in Ligue 1. Kamara, meanwhile, was no longer in Michael Beale’s plans at Ibrox and hadn’t played at all during preseason or the first few weeks of the season.
Jones predicted that Kamara and Spence will make an immediate effect on the team and rapidly establish themselves. They were their two most significant acquisitions during the transfer window, as well as their two main areas of focus.
The fact that both players have a lot to prove is another reason they were signed. Kamara needs to regain his mojo, and Djed Spence has been at Tottenham for far too long.
He made the decision that traveling to the Championship and making this move was the best course of action since he wanted to start going.

With Spence’s debut off the bench against Sheffield Wednesday impressing already, it appears that both of the new Whites will play a much larger role than they have in the past. This suggests that Luke Ayling will have to fight to keep his spot.
The odd decision to continuously ignore Cody Drameh until his latest, and likely final, exit this year will be softened if the former Nottingham Forest star can recapture his previous form in the Championship.
Kamara’s tardy arrival, which came only a few hours after fellow midfielder Ilia Gruev from Werder Bremen, substantially increased Farkes’ options at a crucial position, and he too made a brief appearance against the Owls.
Due to Leeds losing their entire senior midfield during the transfer window, the German has been obliged to start both 17-year-old Archie Gray and 22-year-old Ethan Ampadu for every game thus far this season.
Kamara, a Finland international, may need some time to acclimate to first-team activities after being excluded since the end of the last season in Glasgow.
However, he did play for his nation over the international break, so Kamara and Gruev should have an opportunity to shine sooner rather than later given that Gray might require some rotation having being thrown into the fire to begin his senior career.
