‘Just got off the phone…’ – YEP Journo reveals what he’s heard about Leeds loanee

Jaidon Anthony’s ‘clever’ YEP journalist prediction is to’really adapt’ to Leeds United on loan

According to Joe Donnohue, Jaidon Anthony will “really acclimate” to the Leeds United team and bring “good defensive attributes” and “intelligent” pressing to Elland Road.

The deadline day loan signing from Leeds has the personality and footballing qualities to make his time in Yorkshire successful, according to the Yorkshire Evening Post journalist, who stated this on the Inside Elland Road Podcast (6 September). He did not mention his “down-to-earth” demeanor.

In a player-for-player transaction, Anthony was transferred from Premier League Bournemouth to the Vitality Stadium, while Luis Sinisterra went to that location.

I think he is more than adequate,” Donnohue remarked on the Inside Elland Road Podcast. I just got off the phone with a reporter who covered Bournemouth during Scott Parker’s promotion season, and he was gushing over Jaidon Anthony’s skills on the field as well as his demeanor off it.

He is a really approachable, everyday person who is cheerful and up for a talk with anyone. At the age of 23, it appears like he will fit in well with current Leeds team. It’s not like he joins a squad that is very experienced and loaded with senior and veteran players.

The stylistic fit, right-footed left winger, solid defensive qualities, and hard worker are the next things to consider. Given how talented Leeds will be in the last third, I’ve been told he’s a very intelligent presser, which I think is vital.

Positive signs

The forward played 30 times for the Cherries in the Premier League last season, but most of his minutes came off the bench, so it made sense when he signed with Daniel Farke to go on loan so he could play regularly for the first team.

He was able to handle the increased pressure of playing more frequently in the Championship last season after scoring two goals in the Premier League.

Leeds United

Leeds supporters will be quite interested in the 23-year-old after hearing Donnohue’s evaluation of him. Anyone watching would have been able to tell he had football talent, but Farke’s choice to hire him was likely influenced by his cleverness in pressing and passing.

However, before any performance on the field, his disposition and friendliness can come through. It can be challenging for a loan player to settle in at a new club, especially if they know they won’t be there come May.

Anthony might be able to connect with his new teammates and, ideally, boost Leeds’ performance on the field if he can allow his “jovial” side shine through.
