Intriguing transfer claim emerges surrounding Leeds United midfielder subject to Championship interest – Report
Darko Gyabi, a midfielder for Leeds United, was apparently the target of proposals on deadline day last week from three different clubs, however conflicting information has since emerged on Swansea City’s interest.
After the upheaval of the summer, Leeds and Daniel Farke can now put off making any transfers, which is sure to be a thinking the manager will appreciate.

On deadline day, Darko Gyabi’s potential departure from Leeds emerged as an intriguing side story amid the chaos of Luis Sinisterra’s agreement sheet issue.
After two midfielders were signed to play in the same position as him and offers started to come in, the teenager decided that a loan move would be the best course of action.
Before Valenciennes made two permanent proposals for him, the first was a loan from League One Fleetwood Town, and the second was for £5 million, the same sum that Leeds spent to get him in 2022, according to The Athletic.
The same source said that Leeds’ Championship rivals Swansea City had also made a last-minute loan offer, but no transfer took place and the 19-year-old is still at Elland Road.
Do Swansea still want Gyabi?
Tom Coleman, a journalist for WalesOnline, has now revealed that despite Swansea’s interest, Leeds’s man was never presented with an offer.
However, given that Gyabi’s future is uncertain, there was “tentative” interest in the former Man City player, and it is unknown whether they will take it up in January:
“Other reports said that the Swans had made an approach to sign the midfielder on loan, but no deal was ever completed. Although there was reportedly at least a tentative amount of interest in the 19-year-old, who is now in a bit of a bind after remaining in west Yorkshire past the deadline, it is believed that the Swans never ever made a definite offer.
“Boss Daniel Farke has greatly improved his midfield options, which has moved Gyabi further lower on the priority list. A departure in January is definitely a possibility. Swansea may be tempted to make a move, but that is to be determined.
Gyabi ought to have been loaned out, thus it’s odd that we turned down an offer for him on the deadline day.
Playing time would have to come from somewhere else because there are already at least four players ahead of him in the pecking order and he cannot play.
The thing that aggravates me the most is that he will play for the under-21s for three months, where he can scarcely improve since he is too talented for it.
