‘Very exciting news, I’m quite surprised’: Sky Sports pundit stunned by ‘very exciting’ Tottenham news

‘VERY EXCITING’ SURPRIZES SKY SPORTS PUNDIT TONIGHT NEWS
Steven Caulker, a former Tottenham Hotspur defender, applauded the team’s decision to acquire Brennan Johnson from Nottingham Forest.

Brennan Johnson was acquired by Tottenham Hotspur on the final day of the transfer window, and Steven Caulker praised the move.

Tottenham waited until it was far too late, yet they managed to sign their new attacker before the window crashed shut.

Johnson was acquired by Tottenham in the closing hours of the transfer window after weeks of rumors.

Spurs spent ÂŁ47.5 million to lure the Welshman to North London, which is a very sizable sum.

Johnson, a quick forward who can play anywhere in the front line, will now significantly increase Ange Postecoglou’s attack’s versatility.

For Tottenham as they adopt “Angeball,” Johnson checks off the criteria of speed, adaptability, and homegrown eligibility.

Although Johnson wasn’t registered in time to play Burnley this weekend, Tottenham will be ready to use their new forward once the international break is through.

Steven Caulker praises Tottenham for signing Brennan Johnson

This decision hasn’t totally won over all Tottenham supporters.

The decision to spend a lot of money on a forward who scored eight goals the previous season, Harry Kane, hasn’t gone over well with everyone.

Johnson will need to contribute a lot of goals, hopefully without feeling under pressure to be perceived as Kane’s immediate replacement.

However, one former Tottenham player has now hailed the move, and Steven Caulker agrees.

On deadline day (01/09, 16:40), Caulker indicated that Johnson is a “really exciting” talent when appearing as a pundit on Sky Sports.

The 31-year-old, who is presently a free agent, acknowledged that he is ‘very astonished’ that Forest allowed Johnson to transfer to North London.

Caulker thinks that Spurs are a team to watch this season under Ange Postecoglou and is thrilled that Tottenham has acquired Johnson and James Maddison, two homegrown stars.

“Yeah, a really exciting young talent,” Caulker remarked. I’m surprised that Nottingham Forest let him leave, but it’s clear that they did so because they believed they could find a successor quickly. I appreciate that Spurs have adopted a British identity, they signed Maddison, who has had an excellent start to the season, and, like I said, I think they’re a team to keep an eye on this season.
