Following Luis Sinisterra’s loan transfer to the Vitality Stadium, the 23-year-old joined the team at Elland Road. Anthony was seen as Sinisterra’s replacement.
The Bournemouth club that earned promotion to the top tier and then cemented their status under Gary O’Neil last season relied heavily on Anthony, who has made three Premier League appearances for the Cherries this season.
According to Leeds Live (4 September), Farke said the following about the acquisition: “I think with Jaidon Anthony, we’ve found the greatest potential alternative since he’s an experienced Championship player. Brilliant young man who is also really anxious to be here.
He’s still young enough to develop. Because Jaidon is still young and we want to work with him to progress, we can’t compare him to Luis because the latter was a well-known international player. However, Jaidon has a lot of quality and promise.
Exciting addition
In a team with many young and inexperienced players as well as some older heads, he will bring expertise well beyond his years despite being only 23 years old. He has much of experience in both the Premier League and the Championship.
Wilfried Gnonto, Dan James, and Cyrsencio Summerville are all already in place, so even if losing Sinsiterra is disappointing because he might be one of the greatest players in the division, Farke has a ton of choices out wide.
Anthony provides experience of what it takes to be promoted from the Championship that they don’t, and together with the few United players still on the team after their title success in the 209/20 season, that knowledge will be very helpful.
Anthony may become the newest star on the flank for Leeds United now that he has had two weeks to adjust to his new teammates and Farke’s style of play, especially given his clear desire to perform well and aid the Whites this season.
