Despite the Luke Thomas deal falling through at Elland Road, Leeds United will attempt to fill the position at left-back with a new signing on deadline day, according to Sky Sports writer Tim Thornton.
Thornton anticipates a hectic day of business for the Whites as Daniel Farke’s team has been active in the window thus far.

What has Tim Thornton said about Leeds United’s deadline day business?
Thornton, a Sky Sports reporter, acknowledged that Leeds was likely to inquire about a few left-back possibilities when questioned about their preparations for the transfer deadline.
In response to the failed Thomas deal, Thornton commented on the current situation: “I assume they’ll try to get a left-back in. However, since the Luke Thomas scenario altered, I’m not so sure that at this point in the window, that is one area where they will be able to fill.
“So if something develops then maybe, but if not, as the midfield was the priority between now and the window closing.”

Further up the field, The Daily Mail reports that Leeds is considering a move for Ola Solbakken, who is rumored to be a transfer target for Serie A team Roma.
Despite numerous failed attempts to capture the elusive midfielder, Leeds are still interested in Celtic star Matt O’Riley.
Dean Jones, a transfer insider, stated earlier this week that Leeds had not yet made Celtic a “tempting” offer, indicating that more work needs to be done if they want to sign the 22-year-old.

It follows the middle of August assertion made by Telegraph reporter John Percy that the defender was also a target for Leeds earlier this summer. Southampton is sending a strong message of determination on the last day.
