According to Fabrizio Romano, Leeds United and Tottenham have agreed a $1 million agreement for the loan signing of defender Djed Spence.
On Tuesday [29 August], the transfer expert tweeted from his personal account that the player must now approve the trade.

If Spence signs a contract at Elland Road as anticipated, Leeds will give Spurs a seven-figure payment to aid with the 23-year-old’s wages.
Big upgrade
Spence arrived at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in a £20m deal in July 2022, but he has made just four Premier League appearances so far, totalling around three minutes on the field.
The right-back was loaned to Ligue 1 side Rennes at the end of January and started seven times in Ligue 1 before the end of the 2022-23 campaign.
Spence’s road to the first team at Spurs remains blocked despite a manager change, therefore he is now prepared to move down a level to play – he hopes – more frequently for Leeds.
Spence’s performances at promotion-winning Nottingham Forest earned him a spot in the Team of the Season the last time he competed in the Championship.
Daniel Farke will undoubtedly be hoping that Spence can swiftly settle in and unseat Luke Ayling at right-back given his prior success in the division and the fact that he is a £20 million player.
It might be a significant upgrade for Leeds, who have been actively adding players to their roster over the past week and are still doing so before the transfer window closes.
