£10,000,000 Transfer Bombshell For Leeds United
Leeds United’s swoop for Nottingham Forest midfielder Lewis O’Brien has hit a huge stumbling block as the Premier League side want to recoup their £10,000,000 outlay on the player to allow him to leave, according to Alan Nixon.
The freshly relegated team hoped to work out a loan agreement with the midfielder that would become permanent if they were promoted back to the Premier League. Steve Cooper’s team, however, is hesitant to accept this proposal because they worry that the club would lose out on an immediate return if the player is compelled to go back to the City Ground. Instead, as they seek to reclaim the money they spent to Huddersfield Town last year, they have notified Leeds that a sum of roughly £10,000,000 will be needed to secure the player.

Since there have been so many departures this summer—and several players are still trying to go before the transfer window closes—Daniel Farke’s team has been in desperate need of replacements. With his return to the team, Wilfred Gnonto’s controversy seems to have partly eased. Despite a lengthy search for Joel Piroe’s signature, they were able to secure it; he also scored in yesterday’s triumph.
The guy is obviously not a part of Nottingham Forest’s plans, and it might be best for them to just let him go and take their losses. This is probably some sort of negotiating strategy, and the contract will probably be reached for a lot less money than was originally estimated. According to Alan Nixon, Leeds United is trying to snag a last-minute deal for West Brom attacker Grady Diangana.
The Baggies are hoping to sell the 25-year-old to raise some cash before the transfer window ends, The Sun journalist wrote on his Patreon on August 27.
He stated that the Whites and Premier League team Burnley are “keeping an eye on developments” as they consider whether to pursue the English winger or not.
In light of the fact that Diangana appears to have been made available for transfer by West Brom, there are serious doubts as to whether it would be worthwhile for Leeds to make a move for him this summer.
If Willy Gnonto is expected to remain at the club, do the Whites really need to spend money on another winger? Also, should they be aiming to recruit a player who is unpopular with the Baggies?
Diangana has shown during his time at the Hawthorns that he can be a strong player at Championship level on his best day, but in 129 games, he has only managed to score 15 goals and provide 11 assists, demonstrating that he is generally inconsistent.
He hasn’t played since February due to an injury, and although he is now back in training, Carlos Corberan’s Albion side did lose out on his services before the latter was sidelined earlier this year.
Before making a bid for the winger, who is allegedly worth around £7million, the Whites might want to consider bolstering other parts of their team.
