In the two seasons between 2021 and 2023, Piroe scored 44 goals, sparking attention from Southampton, Leicester, and Everton, who may yet battle Leeds for his services.
He is worth every dollar they demand.
Piroe, who recently joined Leeds, might make the difference between getting stuck in the Championship and being promoted right away. With an average of 21 goals a season over the last two years, he would be a game-changer for the Yorkshire club. His goals are exactly what Leeds are needing.
Swansea’s asking price was reportedly set at roughly £15 million, but given where the transfer window is at this point, they may have modified their tune. Regardless, Leeds’ opening offer will still fall short.
However, conversations with his entourage are very certain to have gone well if Leeds had been persuaded to formally declare their interest. Negotiations are currently under way.
While the full-back position and midfield in particular still need to be strengthened, adding a striker of Piroe’s caliber and stature would be a huge coup for Leeds.
All summer long, there has been a clear need for a new striker, especially after Patrick Bamford’s preseason injury against Hearts revealed the lack of depth up top.
