Agent admits Tottenham want to sign Santiago Gimenez
Ange Postecoglou may try to recruit the 22-year-old striker, and Santiago Gimenez’s agent confirmed Tottenham’s interest in him.
Santiago Gimenez has come to represent the media’s interest and desire to associate him with transfers to elite clubs. The famous Coen Dillen’s Eredivisie scoring record of 43 goals in one season was set by the Mexican, who has been in excellent form and appears to be on a quest to break it.
Gimenez only scored 15 goals last season, so no one would have thought to mention him in the same sentence as Dillen. His goals were crucial in helping Feyenoord win the Eredivisie for the second time in a century.
Gimenez has already surpassed Feyenoord’s season-long goal-scoring record after eight games. His season total now stands at 12 goals after his brace against PEC Zwolle. If he keeps up this form, he should be able to break the Eredivisie record.
Gimenez has been linked to a departure from Feyenoord ever since the summer transfer window, with Arsenal, Tottenham, and Chelsea among those interested. Feyenoord is still aware of the interest and might ask for a sizable price in exchange.
According to some accounts, Arsenal and Tottenham were allegedly instructed to pay €50 million or more, which would seem reasonable for the London teams. Tottenham are now interested in signing him in the future, according to his agency, Dutch source ED.
According to Gimenez’s agency, “Santi is one of the top ten (most coveted) players in Europe.”In view of this, even Tottenham Hotspur is intrigued. A lot of clubs want him. Lazio, Milan, Inter, and Napoli. Atletico showed a lot of interest.
Son Heung-min’s placement as the No. 9 by Ange Postecoglou has left Tottenham without a top-tier center forward. The best position for the South Korean is on the left, where Richarlison also needs assistance. In fact, since joining in the summer of 2022, the Brazilian has yet to establish his value as their starting striker.
If things went his way, Gimenez already envisions moving to Real Madrid. If a move to Spain doesn’t happen, the 22-year-old striker is still open to joining a Premier League team. In order to sustain a potential title push, Postecoglou would like to sign him in January, and Tottenham have a strong opportunity to do so.
As a result of their victory over Luton Town, Tottenham finished first in the Premier League standings. With their victory over Manchester City, Arsene now has the same number of points as Spurs. The superior goal-scoring record of Postecoglou’s team keeps them in first place.
